Yes! The Millennium Exterior Wood Composite Shutters are always made primed and are also available painted. We refer to painted shutters as "prefinished" shutters because they are finished before they leave our factory.
Our standard prefinishing colors are White and Black. If you have a specific color in mind, please send us either the Sherwin Williams color number or a sample that we can color match. To learn more about our custom color process, please contact us.
We use either White Pine or Ponderosa Pine for our Premium Pine Window Shutters. These species are ideal for exterior wood shutters and are better than Radiatta Pine and Yellow Pine which bow and bend over time.
We will use either Spanish Cedar or Sapele, at Manufacturer Option, on our Premium Cedar Exterior Window Shutters.
Premium Series Exterior Wood Shutters are available in True Louver (also called Fixed Louver), Raised Panel, Combination Louver and Panel, as well as Board and Batten.
Many options are available, including: flat panel, panels raised-two-sides, and false tilt rods.

Gable louvers, also known as gable vents, provide attic ventilation for homes. Wood gable vents enhance the look of a home as they provide a genuine, substantial and traditional look to the home. They are traditionally painted to match the trim of your home.
Yes! Since wood gable louvers add to the exterior look of a home, many people will ask for these as "non operable" or "non venting" gable vents. In this case, instead of the standard insect screen, we will install a closed back on the gable louver.
All of our products are made custom at time of order. We can make these gable vents to fit any opening in virtually any style. The most common styles include Rectangle, Triangle, Arch Top, Round Top, and Full Circle Gable Vents. We also make Half Round, Diamond, Quarter Round, Point Top, Octagon, Oval, and Springline (also known as an eyebrow or segment louver). A vertical center bar is available on triangle and point top gable louvers, as well. Photos of our gable louvers in these styles are available here.
All gable louvers are made standard with either White Pine or Ponderosa Pine. We also offer Cedar as an alternative. Many people prefer Cedar due to its better rot and insect resistance compared to Pine.
Gable Louvers come standard with a square back for easy installation in new construction projects. If you are replacing an existing gable louver, it is typically easier to install when the back of the gable vent does not protrude outside the frame of the louver shape. In this case, we would recommend an octagon back on Full Circle Gable Louvers or Octagon Gable Louvers and clipped corners on all other gable vents.
The finish of any gable vent is very important. Most siding comes pre-primed, so your painter will just want to put a finish coat on the entire house. By ordering your gable louvers primed, you save your painter the extra step of priming the gable louvers before the finish coat is applied. Ultimately, factory priming saves time and money on the entire job.
Doorlites are also called Vision Lites, Vision Kits, Lite Kits, Sandwich Kits, Vision Panels, and Door Lites. These are windows that fit into doors. In some cases, they are also placed into transoms and side lites.
Vision Lites are typically made with 1/8" Clear Tempered Glass; however there are more glass options available than we can list! We commonly sell Insulated Tempered Glass, Laminated Glass, Satin Tempered Glass, Rain Glass, and Pattern 62. We have the ability to source many specialty glass types, as well.
In some cases, customers would like to install their own glass. We offer "Open" lites for this situation; however, the customer would be responsible for complying with all safety glazing requirements.
We typically sell Basswood, Beech, Maple, and Red Oak Lite Kit frames. We also sell Poplar, Cherry, African Mohanany, Ash, White Oak, and Walnut. We can make other species if needed. Contact us to inquire about these other specie options.
Basswood and Beech are ideal to use for a "paint grade" since they can be easily primed and painted to match the trim color of the room.
Basswood, Beech, Maple, Red Oak, and all other species are able to be used as "stain grade" to match the color scheme of the room.
We sell Lip Lites with screw holes and include screws with your Vision Kit. For customers who don't want the screws showing, we offer a Finish Nail option with our Lip Lites. We won't drill screw holes so you can nail them in yourself. This is the most common method used to prevent screws from being shown.
We also offer Flush Lites. This is a different profile that fits inside the cutout with no lip over the face of the door. Cutouts have to be extremely accurate in order for flush mouldings to fit properly. We highly recommend making the cutout to match our frame after you receive it.
Louver Inserts are also called Door Louvers and Vision Panels. These are louvers that fit into doors to provide air flow and ventilation between rooms. They are commonly used in homes, apartment and office complexes, furnace rooms, and dressing rooms.

Chevron Louver Inserts, also referred to as V-Slat Inserts, do not allow anyone to see through the insert but still allows for air flow between rooms.
High Air Flow Louver Inserts, sometimes called Flat Slat Inserts, allow for a greater flow of air between rooms than Chevron Inserts. However, they also allow people to see through the insert to the next room.
